Mitzvah Day 2014

Our congregation will “join hands” on Sunday, December 7th to make a difference in the lives of others.  Mitzvah Day 2014 projects include: sandwiches and holiday cards for residents of Turning Point, fleece blankets for babies, origami kits and art projects for kids at TCH, lovies for babies through The Thread Alliance, heart pillows for The Common Thread Circle and more.

We are collecting new and gently used books between now and Mitzvah Day to be donated to Books Between Kids, a non-profit organization  founded to serve Houston’s at risk children by providing them with books to build their own libraries.

New this year will be the Mitzvah Day Carnival.  Geared towards children 10 and under, the carnival will give kids the opportunity to learn about and participate in a variety of mitzvah related activities.

Please consider a donation to Mitzvah Day.  Contributions can be made online under the “Donations” link on our website at www.hcrj.org.  You may also mail a check to the temple office made out to HCRJ.  Every contribution counts.  Together we will make a difference!
