As her position on the board would indicate, Madeleine Appel is a past president of Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism. Madeleine also chairs the Temple Life Committee and the Nominating Committee and serves on the Ritual Committee. She is retired after 34 years with the City of Houston, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Annise D. Parker. She currently is chair of the Founders Committee of Neighbors4Neighbors Network, a village without walls for seniors living in Zip Code 77096 and a community service program of Jewish Family Service. For relaxation Madeleine enjoys spending time with her husband Michael, children and grandchildren and knitting and reading.
