Jewish Resilience Through Chocolate Presentation with Rabbi Debbi Prinz

June 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us on Wednesday morning at 10am for a presentation about one of our favorite things – chocolate! Rabbi Debbie Prinz will present, “Jewish Resilience Through Chocolate”, from New York City on Zoom.

This talk will explore how Sephardic and later Ashkenazi Jews found opportunity and sustenance through chocolate trading, retailing and manufacturing.

Rabbi Prinz lectures about chocolate and religion nationally and internationally. She has held a number of leadership positions in the national and regional Reform movement, having recently served the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) as Director of Program and Member Services. Rabbi Prinz is the Rabbi Emerita of Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, California. Prior to that, she was the Rabbi of a synagogue in Bergen County, New Jersey and also the Assistant Rabbi of Central Synagogue in Manhattan.

We’ll be giving away gift cards to Houston chocolate shops during the presentation!

Please RSVP to Justin at Justin@hcrj.org.
