Growing up the son of a well-respected money manager, Marty Kaplan caught the investment bug early. Or maybe he just wanted his father’s approval. Either way, now in his forties, Marty’s obsessed with becoming a partner and doubling the size of the Atlanta-based firm run by his father. But the trend is no longer his friend. A steep market drop, family drama, hardnosed SEC inspectors, and distressing encounters with some challenging clients – including JD, a lovestruck, spendthrift rabbi – have turned Marty’s world upside down. Deeply shaken and pushed to his emotional limits, he must confront his own shortcomings to determine what’s truly meaningful in his life.
