Shabbat Service in Memory of Brad Gaber

February 13, 2015 @ 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm

A Special Shabbat Service in Memory of Brad Gaber

Brad Gaber was the designer and artist who redesigned our bima including the ark, the lectern and the furnishings.  He also designed the fused glass donor’s wall which welcomes all who enter our building with beauty and light.  Brad’s work was a labor of love, and he never asked for compensation in any way.  Sadly, Brad never got to see his creative vision in its final form as he lost his life to stomach cancer before the bima and donor wall were completed.

On Friday night, February 13, we will honor Brad’s memory in a very sacred way.  Selections of the music for Shabbat services will be played by some of Brad’s dearest friends.  With guitars galore, we will honor the artist whose final works will continue to bless this congregation for many generations to come.

All are welcome to join us at 7:15 Friday nights for Shabbat Services. You do not need to be a member to join us in prayer as we welcome the Sabbath bride. Immediately following services, we gather together at the oneg (joy) for cookies and conversation.

HCRJ retains its Classical Reform philosophy through the use of a modernized edition of the Union Prayer Book. It contains extensive transliteration of most of the Hebrew prayers, thereby enabling those who do not read Hebrew to participate in the liturgy. We encourage you to discover within its pages a fresh approach and a return to the ideals of Reform Judaism.
