Social Action Project: ESL Program at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church

Did you know that Houston has one of the largest immigrant populations? 22% of Houston residents were born in another country and many of these people do not know English. How do they learn? Some head to Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church right down the road from HCRJ for the ESL (English as a Second Language) program there. That’s where our social action group will be on Saturday, January 20! We will be volunteering at the program’s registration day. We will assist with the assessments for determining class level and data entry of registrations. This is a project for ages 14+.
