Thanksgiving Social Action Project: Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston Meals on Wheels Volunteer Call Team

There are 5,200 seniors in the Houston/Galveston area who rely on meals from Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston everyday. These seniors are homebound and may not have family or friends to visit on Thanksgiving Day. Would you like to help brighten their holiday with a phone call and a “Happy Thanksgiving!” on Thanksgiving morning?

Be on our Thanksgiving Day volunteer call team! Starting at 9am, volunteers are asked to make at least 10 phone calls from home to check in on Meals on Wheels seniors. A virtual phone bank will allow you to make calls from an internet-connected device, so your personal number will not be viewable by the call recipient. You’ll receive your designated call list and script on Thanksgiving Day.
