Social Action Project: Prayer Flags
May 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Officially, May is National Foster Care Month. It’s a month to raise awareness about foster care and to encourage people to get involved in the lives of kids in foster care – whether as foster parents, volunteers, mentors and employers or in other ways. Unofficially, May is Increasing In-Person Programs at HCRJ Month.
On Saturday, May 15, come to the temple anytime from 10am-12pm as we enjoy both month-long celebrations with a social action project outside on the patio.
This is for all ages! We’ll create prayer flags to represent the children in foster care. We’ll paint the flags and then write prayers or positive messages or draw pictures on them. When complete, we’ll first display them for all to see at HCRJ. Then, we’ll deliver them to Cultivating Families, an organization which equips communities of faith to care for foster and adopted children.
