Social Action Project: The Beacon

Volunteer with us at The Beacon on Sunday, August 21st from 10am-1pm! The mission of The Beacon is to provide essential and next-step services to restore hope and help end homelessness in Houston. The Beacon provides breakfast and hot homemade lunches, private showers, full-service laundry, mailbox privileges, transportation assistance, access to phone and computers, civil legal aid, walk-up case management and more.

Our responsibilities volunteering at The Beacon Day Center will include serving on the lunch line, helping in the dining room, washing, drying and folding laundry, handing out hygiene items and greeting and checking in clients. This is a project for ages 13+. The Beacon is located at 1212 Prairie Street, Houston, TX 77002.
