JoAnn Innerarity joined HCRJ in 1989 and, over the years, has served as Religious School chair, Membership chair, board secretary and, currently, as immediate past president. She retired from teaching secondary English eight years ago, having taught at Stratford High School for thirteen years. Mike and JoAnn’s daughter, Jeanell, was confirmed at HCRJ and continues to enjoy attending services during her visits to Houston from Bellingham, Washington where she has lived for the past two years. For Mike and JoAnn, the journey from joining HCRJ when Jeanell was one of two students in the kindergarten class to the present where HCRJ’s Religious School is bustling with a new found energy and excitement while the congregation maintains its original warmth and acceptance has been the most gratifying aspect of HCRJ membership.
