Basic Judaism Class

Join us for our first Basic Judaism Class. The topic is: God, Torah and Israel: The Foundations of a Faith.

This is part of a 4-week course in Basic Judaism at HCRJ led by Rabbi Steve Gross. This class is designed for adults who wish to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Jewish history, beliefs and practices. Basic Judaism is an ideal course for everyone at HCRJ and serves as a wonderful overview for newcomers to our faith.

Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur means “Day of Atonement” and refers to the annual Jewish observance of fasting, prayer and repentance. Yom Kippur is considered the holiest day on the Jewish calendar.

Our Yom Kippur Adult Morning Service starts at 11:00 am.  Services continue throughout the day:

1:00 pm Holy Day Interfaith Discussion Hour
2:15 pm Meditation Period
3:00 pm Afternoon Service
4:00 pm Memorial and Concluding Service
Break the Fast at approximately 5:30 pm

Kol Nidre

Kol Nidre, translated as all vows, takes place during the service on the eve of Yom Kippur which begins at 8:00 pm.
